Let’s make some sentences in Indonesian language by using word “his”!
His: nya
His book: bukunya
His car: mobilnya
His mother: ibunya
Book: buku
Car: mobil
Mother: ibu
1. Saya membawa kelerengnya.
(I bring his marble)
2. Saya menyimpan uangnya.
(I save his money)
3. Saya meletakkan gelasnya.
(I put his glass)
4. Kami menyambut kedatangannya.
(We welcome his arrival)
5. Kami bahagia atas kedatangannya.
(We are happy for his arrival)
6. Mereka memahami politiknya
(They understand his politics)
7. Dia (laki-laki) mengetahui kenakalannya.
(He knows his delinquency)
8. Dia (perempuan) mengungkap penyelewengannya.
(She oncovers his deviation)
9. Kamu mengikuti strateginya.
(You follow his strategy)
10. Mereka mengintip rahasianya.
(They spy on his secret)
Indonesian language doesn’t use different word, either for “he” or “she”. Male and female use “–nya”. Therefore, “her” is “nya” and “his” is “nya” too.
